Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Position: A full-time, three-year position in social psychology with possibility of conversion to tenure eligibility. Normal course load is three courses (equivalent to 12 semester hours) per semester. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and level of experience. There is a nine-month yearly appointment, with summer school teaching possible for additional compensation. Candidates whose teaching, research, and/or other professional activities focus on under-represented populations, and who are interested in facilitating diversity-related learning opportunities for students are highly valued by the department and the college.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. is preferred; ABD may be considered. The candidate would teach social psychology and foundational courses including research methods in psychology and general psychology. The candidate would teach additional courses suited to their area of expertise, such as psychological statistics, personality psychology, health psychology, or social justice-related courses. The successful candidate must show a commitment to high quality teaching and to maintaining an active research program involving undergraduates.
Advisement of about 15-20 undergraduate majors, participation in departmental projects, and involvement in college-wide activities are required. Faculty in the department are expected to mentor undergraduate student research. Concordia encourages students and faculty to be actively engaged in the local community and as such candidates who are interested in engaging in community outreach are particularly desirable.

The psychology department at Concordia College is comprised of 6 faculty and serves about 160 majors and over 100 minors.
