Job Details
Trinity Christian College seeks a full-time Audio Visual Technician. The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for overseeing and supporting all aspects and needs of audio visual technology on campus.
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
• Set up and run all aspects of audio visual for live events on campus, including:
o Stage and house lightingo Microphones
o House and monitor speakers
o House and streaming audio and video feeds (single and multi-camera)
o Mixing audio via digital audio board
• Record, edit, and produce audio of live and studio productions
• Meet with internal and external clients to identify and support the AV needs of all campus conferences and events
• Work with consultants and vendors to negotiate contracts and pricing
• Identify, configure, and support classroom technology solutions
• Stay informed of the latest audio visual trends and emerging technologies
• Recruit, manage, and train a team of student AV technicians
Qualifications include:
• Technical Skills
o Digital video camera operation and theoryo Understanding of lighting techniques and color theory
o Configure and operate digital multi-channel audio mixer
o Configure and operate a multi-channel video matrix switcher
o Audio and video input and output connections and specifications
o Audio and video codecs and industry standards
• Software Skills
o Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Mac OSo Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
o Audio editing solutions
o Video streaming and conferencing solutions
• Personal Skills
o Highly organizedo Detail oriented
o Punctual
o Emphasis on customer and client service
o Able to adapt to a flexible and fluctuating work schedule that often involves events on nights or weekends
A Bachelor’s degree in Media Production or related program or a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years work experience in a related field is required.
The physical demands of this position include:
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds• Able to climb ladders and steps
• Able to work in areas elevated up to 50 feet above the floor
• Able to obtain a minimum of 20/20 vision through the use of natural or corrective lenses
• Able to correctly identify shades of color
• Able to distinguish between varying levels of sound
• Able to access and use equipment in dark or confined spaces
• Able to legally operate a motor vehicle independently
• Able to work indoors and outdoors both day and night in all seasons of a climate that is typical for this geographic region
