Hofstra University is a dynamic community of more than 11,000 students from around the world who are dedicated to civic engagement, academic excellence and becoming leaders in their communities and their careers.Description:Hofstra University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science’s Department of Engineering seeks to fill an anticipated Laboratory Specialist position to manage the daily operations of the laboratory, including, maintaining safety data sheets, ordering, and participating in joint upkeep and safe operation of the lab, which is used for both teaching and undergraduate research.

This is an onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.
The usual schedule for this position is Monday - Friday. This position is currently working 4 days on alternating weeks.Qualifications:B.S. in Engineering or a related field required. Past research experience in atomic force microscopy on cells is required. The Lab is equipped with an Asylum MFP-3D-BIO AFM. Applicants should be capable of conducting experiments and mentoring undergraduates during lab classes and for research projects. Good communication and organizational skills, and ability to interact with undergraduate students and faculty are required.
