Pediatric Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor

The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing, is accepting applications for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) position that supports the College of Nursing’s school-based nurse-managed health center serving children in Knox County Schools located at Vine School Health Center. This position will provide pediatric primary care to Knox County children at the clinic 5 days/week for 9 months of the year as a member of the interprofessional health care team.


Qualifications:
  • Licensure as a registered nurse and APRN in Tennessee
  • Masters in Nursing (MSN) with national certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Earned doctorate (PhD or DNP) preferred.
  • Professional experience as a RN and APRN preferred. 
  • Evidence of teaching experience or precepting APRN students preferred.
  • Participate in community and professional activities as requested.
  • Participate in scholarly projects/research projects as requested. 

Job Skills:

  •  Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of students and colleagues in an interprofessional practice.
  • Experience with electronic health records and technology preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Collaborate with clinical concentration coordinators and faculty, program directors, and the Associate and Assistant Deans in the clinical education of students.
  • Good communication skills both written and orally
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Supervise nursing students as assigned.
