Position Description:
The UCLA School of Dentistry seeks a Patient & Program Coordinator for its offsite community clinic, the Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center (VDC), where there are student dentists, resident dentists and faculty dentists delivering dental services. The ideal candidate is a professional, organized, team player with at least 3 years' experience working in the front office of a dental office. There are three primary responsibilities of the VDC Patient & Program Coordinator: (1) Clinic Administration and Account Management Duties; (2) Resident and Program Administration Duties and (3) Case Management, Patient Recruitment, Special Projects and Other Duties. As part of the Case Management and Account Management duties, the employee will serve as the VDC liaison between the clinical provider, outside referring provider, patient and billing office. The Patient & Program Coordinator will serve as a resource to patients in explaining planned treatment, scheduling and coordinating appointments in the case of complex cases, and helping explain payment arrangements. As part of the Patient Account Management duties, the employee will be responsible for running reports, billing insurance, account review and clean-up. The employee will also be involved with the development and execution of a complaint resolution process to ensure that patient relations can be handled effectively and expeditiously. As part of the Patient Recruitment, Program Coordination, Special Projects and Other Duties, the employee shall be responsible for Program correspondence and Program coordination, recruiting patients for the Program, monitoring performance via analysis of reports, working on special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or VDC Clinic Director. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor and/or VDC Clinic Director.
