Job Description:

The Department of International and Comparative Education of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSS) at the American University in Cairo invites applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate professor position in Educational Leadership and Administration - Higher Education, with potential emphases on organizational theory, policy, economics of education, finance, student development, teaching and learning, instructional leadership, and/or faculty development for the academic year 2021-2022. The department is eager to review the applications of individuals with a strong research agenda, demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching, and an interest in living and working in Egypt.

Responsibilities for this position include teaching graduate and undergraduate level coursework, supervising master's theses or alternatives, advising students, and participating in various educational reform efforts led by the department such as ensuring quality assurance and accreditation of its programs and serving on various committees and activities. Previous experience on accreditation and a comparative and international education context is highly desirable.


Requirements:

Candidates must have a relevant completed, earned doctorate and should have a strong teaching and research record, experience in accreditation and some experience in leadership positions in universities or schools. A successful candidate needs to demonstrate administration expertise with past or potential interest in contributing extensively to educational reform in Egypt, the Middle East, and other developing countries.
