Job Summary/Basic Function:This position, working as part of the Collection Services team, will lead the cataloging and tracking of the University’s growing electronic resource collection. The position reports to the Associate Dean of Administrative and Collection Services and provides professional level support by assuming responsibility for technical and analytical reports related to electronic resources and catalog maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution, or equivalent.
Commitment to Christian higher education and endorsement of Liberty University’s doctrinal statement.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with the evolving and changing cataloging standards and practices.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with office software such as word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheets.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to perform some tasks involving sitting, standing, stooping, lifting, and long periods of keyboarding.
Able to move book carts weighing over 100 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with the Voyager integrated library system.
Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Excel and Access (including developing queries)
Experience in cataloging electronic resources.
Work Hours:Business hours with occasional evening and weekend events.
