Job Summary/Basic Function:

LIBERTY UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW seeks to hire a visiting assistant professor to teach substantive law courses across all areas of the curriculum. This position will be a full-time, two-year, non-tenure-track appointment that begins on or about August 14, 2020, and ends on or about May 14, 2022. After two years of successful teaching, scholarship, and service, visiting assistant professors are eligible for tenure-track consideration. The successful applicant will have excellent academic credentials, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability and enthusiasm required to teach substantive legal courses and mentor students. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to integrating the School of Law’s Christian mission and worldview into their teaching, scholarship, and service. We welcome applications from candidates whose backgrounds will contribute to excellence through institutional diversity.

Minimum Qualifications:

•A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
•License to practice law
•Strong basic writing skills
•Strong legal writing skills
•Strong interpersonal communication skills
•Strong organizational skills
•Teaching experience commiserate with Academic Rank.

Preferred Qualifications:

•A minimum of two years teaching experience is essential and the candidate must have excellent research record, proving that he/she is an active researcher with publications in peer reviewed journals of quality. Industry and professional experience shall be a plus.

Work Hours:

M-F 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
