Scientific Research Analyst IEpidemiology
Location: New Orleans, LA
SummaryOverall responsibility is to support Principal Investigator (PI) and research staff, coordinate and organize research activities of an ongoing NIH-funded multi-center cardiovascular epidemiology study by managing and implementing the research program.
Responsibilities of the Scientific Research Analyst include: implementation of protocol; scientific review and analytical research; collaboration with outside investigators; communications with PI and staff; searching and summarizing scientific literature, generate study hypothesis, developing analytical proposals, making analytical plans and conducting data analysis; data extraction and organizing analysis results; reporting and interpreting research plans and results in a timely manner to PI and co-Investigators; scientific manuscript writing and revising for publications. He/she will also be responsible for supervising students, personnel training and assisting with a variety of other study related tasks in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory agencies guidelines.
Required Qualifications- Master's degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics
- One-year experience in cardiovascular disease epidemiology study or related research areas
- Master or PhD degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or applied statistics
- A good record of scientific publications in cardiovascular disease epidemiology
- Background of medicine or human biology
- Experience in longitudinal statistical analysis models
- Proficient in computer administration, including PC and work station
- Ability to do research in both oral and written communication
- Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of subjects and information obtained
- Ability to network with and provide information to key groups and individuals
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to resolve issues in area of responsibility
