Theatre: 3YA Lecturer in Film Production
The Theatre Department at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) seeks applications for three – year appointment Lecturer I (renewable annually based on favorable evaluations) in Theatre for Film production to start Fall 2021. The responsibility is to teach Film and Video Editing I, Film and Video Editing II, Introduction to Film and Video Production and other courses in film as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Dean of the College. The successful candidate will be given the standard academic teaching load for lecturer faculty. Assignment will be assigned by the Department Chair or Dean of the college.

MFA in Film Production from an accredited institution. MA in Film with professional experience may be considered.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong background in editing software, particularly Adobe Premier, After Effects, and Audition. Applicants should be well versed in all aspects of cinematography. Additional responsibilities include: Assisting students with film projects, maintaining office hours, student advising and recruitment, and participation in departmental committees. The opportunity to create and direct a short summer film is possible.Preferred Qualifications
MFA in Film Production from an accredited institution. 2 years teaching experience at the college/ university level, professional experience in the film industry. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
