Founded in 1891 and one of the original three UNC System institutions, UNC Greensboro is one of the most diverse universities in the state with 20,000+ students, and 3,000+ faculty and staff members representing 90+ nationalities. With 17 Division I athletic teams, 85 undergraduate degrees in over 125 areas of study, as well as 74 master’s and 32 doctoral programs, UNC Greensboro is consistently recognized nationally among the top universities for academic excellence and value, with noted strengths in health and wellness, visual and performing arts, nursing, education, and more. For additional information, please visit uncg.edu and follow UNCG on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Bryan School has approximately 4,200 undergraduate and graduate students and 116 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments and programs. Approximately 41 percent of the School’s faculty are women, and approximately 30 percent are minorities, and the School is striving to improve both percentages. Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many rankings, honors and accolades. The faculty and students are both impressive. For example, in 2019 its tenure stream faculty members averaged 2.3 peer reviewed journal articles each (15 in 11 different FT50 journals), plus 19 others in A or A+ journals, published 8 books, secured $1.2 million in sponsored research, and occupied 78 editorial positions with peer reviewed journals (editor, associate editor, or editorial board member). Students have traditionally performed well in national and regional competitions. More information about the School may be found at the following URL: http://bryan.uncg.edu.

UNCG is a diverse University of approximately 20,000 students and approximately 1,160 full- and part-time faculty members housed in seven colleges and schools. It has a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service, all of which are guided by the University’s focus on access, excellence, and impact. The University was recently named among the Top 25 in the nation for social mobility by U. S. News and World Report. Insight Into Diversity magazine has awarded UNCG the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for three years in a row due to its strong commitment and support for inclusive excellence. This is in addition to its strong academic rankings in many disciplines. Classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a High-Research Activity University, in 2019-20 the faculty and staff were awarded more than $42 million in external grants and contracts. One way UNCG measures impact is through community-engaged and public service activities. In 2019-20, UNCG engaged in 118 such activities with 289 community partners. (This does not include most of the Bryan School’s 300+ consulting projects with organizations.)

Greensboro is the third largest city in NC with approximately 290,000 people (about one-half persons of color) in a CSA of some 1.8 million. Ideally located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, Greensboro is a vibrant and diverse city only a few hours from either beach or mountain. The city boasts a rapidly developing fine arts center, child friendly venues and a multitude of outdoor amenities. With seven higher education institutions in the immediate area, a large industrial base, and proximity to the Research Triangle and Charlotte, it is an attractive location for dual career families.
