This student employee position will be responsible for providing office support to the Multicultural Resource Center.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Create and support an environment that enhances positive value added relationships and learningProvide front-line support to Diversity Resources staff by answering phones and emails, preparing files, scheduling appointments, gathering data, running reports, sending written correspondence, and maintaining legal records/documents.Communicate with the Diversity Resources team, faculty, and other student services staff concerning student situations and needs.Coordinate appointment scheduling, referral letter, email and phone outreach for at-risk students.Prepare forms and follow procedures under the direction of the Diversity Resources Manager.Performs customer service and general clerical functions for the office. Includes general college knowledge and problem solving for student, staff and faculty inquiries.Oversee the equipment & furniture checkout process.Support and assist in MRC workshops and events.Prepare and review the MRC's event calendar.Work with and relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social or educational backgroundsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.Ability to keep detailed and accurate records.Ability to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social or educational backgrounds.Ability to show up on time during your scheduled shift.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Ability to use judgment, discretion, and decision making skills in dealing with confidential records and sensitive student issues.Ability to communicate orally and in writing on behalf of the Diversity Resources department, with college faculty, staff, and students.Minimum Qualifications

Must be enrolled as a current WCTC studentMust have a minimum of 6 creditsKnowledge with Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook, access and publisher)Supplemental Information

This is a Part- Time, 20 hours or less per week position and hours vary,
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. *During non-class periods student may work up to 28 hours.
