Nature of Work, Research ProjectOur laboratory works on molecular mechanisms of membrane proteins and membrane protein complexes. To do that, we use a multidisciplinary approach, including state-of-art cryo electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography and other biophysical and biochemical methods. Professional Field Molecular Biology Biochemistry & BiophysicsJob DescriptionWe are recruiting a post-doctoral fellow. The successful candidate will join an energetic group investigating the structural and functional mechanism of various diseaserelated membrane proteins and protein complexes. The candidate will work on an exciting project about a new type of siderophore ABC importer from uropathogenic E. coli (https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/6/eaay7997) and its close homologs. The candidate is expected to be able to perform structural biology related experiments, as well as good at both oral and written communications.Job DutiesThe postdoc candidate will conduct research using biochemistry, structural biology, and molecular biology approaches. The candidate will also assist in the preparation of manuscripts to publish their work, the preparation of grant applications, both internal and external, and the preparation of scientific data for presentation at various meetings and conferences. - Doctoral Degree in Chemistry or related Biological Sciences
- Any experience with cryo electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, as well as recombinant protein expression and purification would be beneficial. Strong aptitude for independent problem-solving Experience with protein expression and purification Excellent communication, oral, and written skills are necessaryThe candidate should be eager to learn new skills that comprise our integrative approach.
