Position Summary:

The Director of Student Affairs and Engagement is a member of the senior leadership team for Online Programs responsible for driving excellent outcomes through student retention and student satisfaction, as well as managing the Mason School partner relationships as they relate to online student engagement, student affairs, and advising. The Director will serve as the strategic and operational champion to drive excellent outcomes for our online students and enhance their connection to the university community. This critical role will oversee a team with accountability for student retention, satisfaction, and outcomes. Due to their responsibilities over retention and advising, the Director will also oversee course scheduling and enrollment forecasting responsibilities.

The Director will serve as a subject matter expert in online student retention and policies as well as implement processes and strategic engagements both on-campus and virtually, including the online programs residency weekends. The Director will serve as an additional resource and escalation point to students while fully advocating online student needs to our university partners.

Required Qualifications:

•Master’s degree required
•Demonstrated experience in achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
•Excellent relationship management skills
•Enrollment forecasting and course planning skills/experience
•Experience in Academic Advising
•Experience recruiting and managing tutors
•Strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and excellent follow-through
•Ability to think critically and identify potential issues before they arise
•Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
•Must excel working independently and with teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment within a traditional higher education institution
•Expertise for engaging adult learners students in a virtual environment

Preferred Qualifications:

•Higher Education or Business related graduate degree preferred
•Significant experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
•Previous experience in Online Education industry strongly preferred
•Knowledge of FERPA privacy rules and policies regarding student data
•Proficiency with Banner, Target X, and Salesforce software systems

Advertised Pay Range:

Up to $95,700 commensurate with experience

This position requires additional hours beyond the typical workweek, to include occasion evening and weekend work as needed for the program operations.

This is an exempt position, and not eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
