Professor of Refrigeration Technology DOC (2 positions)

Job description


Responsible for shop equipment and an instructional classroom. Will teach preliminary HVAC courses to include Fundamentals of Electricity, Fundamentals of Refrigeration, Comfort Systems: Residential, Comfort Systems: Commercial, Refrigeration Systems and Practices, Advanced Troubleshooting. Class responsibilities include but are not limited to: attendance, student projects, monitoring student progress, curriculum development, and other specific duties pertaining to the specific Arizona Department of Corrections unit that will be assigned. Instructor will be teaching 15 to 20 inmate/students, at the Arizona Prison Complex. Position is supported and funded through Arizona Department of Corrections, with a consistent and long history of contract renewal. Position is full time - 12 months per year.

Please note:This position is contingent and dependent upon the reopening of DOC prisons. The final candidate will be required to complete a DOC background verification based upon this contingency. Completion of the DOC background verification and a contingent job offer does not guarantee the fulfillment of this position as unforeseen situations may impact the availability of the position.


  • Minimum Qualifications: Five years of directly related occupational experience in HVAC/Refrigeration Technologies and possession of or willingness to obtain certification and/or license, or other credentials required by industry specific trade and/or state of employment.
  • Special Position Condition: Applicant must be able to pass and maintain Arizona Department of Corrections security clearance.
  • SALARY: Entry salary is $58,734.00. Placement above the minimum may be considered up to $69,438 dependent upon education and experience.
