The Department of Management provides quality management education leading to baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. The department also conducts relevant basic and applied research, engages in instructional development and provides professional expertise and service to the department’s constituent communities. We believe in the importance of teaching, supported by intellectual contributions and service.Position Summary:
The Bachelor of Business Administration with a Sport Entertainment Track (BBA) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Sport Entertainment Management programs are housed in the G Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas, and are offered in collaboration with the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation, the School of Journalism, and the Advanced Data Analytics Program. The College of Business is searching for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to deliver courses and grow the BBA and MBA programs. Both degrees are highly specialized to provide students with direct pathways to work in the professional sport entertainment industry, and we are searching for a faculty member who has the ability to engage both academically and professionally (with industry). The faculty member will be housed in the Department of Management and will split their time between the main campus in Denton, TX, and the new college in Frisco, TX. The faculty member will be asked to divide their time between teaching three courses per semester, maintaining or developing an active research agenda, and engage actively with sport industry professionals to open up opportunities for students.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Sport Management or a closely related field, and be considered Scholarly Active, based on the criteria of AACSB.Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with developing and deploying online education programs, and/or hybrid programs.
• Work closely with the sport entertainment industry in and outside the classroom, through class projects, extra-curricular activities, and executive training.
• Show promise to develop a track record of publications in journals classified as ‘A-journals’ by the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) throughout their first five years at UNT.
• Experience delivering superior instruction in one or more of the following areas in Sport Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels: Marketing, Strategic Management, Organizational Theory, and Entrepreneurship.
