The Student Assistant will report to the Academic Service Coordinator and Nursing and Health Science Program Specialist. The student worker helps with daily clerical duties and special projects to support the staff of the Nursing and Health Sciences Department and provide front office coverage. The student in this position must be a Non-Nursing Major, credible, reliable, personable, and able to work with information of a confidential nature.
This is a 19 hours per week maximum part-time student position. The schedule will be assigned in conjunction with the student’s class schedule and is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time.
•Complete tasks including answering the phone, typing, copying, faxing, shredding, etc.
•Prepare and file documents for long and short-term storage
•Process department mail
•Complete other duties and/or special projects as assigned
•Run errands on campus
•Maintain a high level of integrity when handling confidential information
•Extend customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors
Must be enrolled in six credit hours.
•Must be punctual, dependable, reliable and responsible.
•Must demonstrate the ability to understand and carry out simple oral instructions.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Experience with Microsoft Office programs
•Ability to work independently
•Ability to multi-task
•Ability to maintain confidentiality
