Job Summary:

 

The University of Colorado School of Medicine’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation currently seeks a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level or higher to provide oncologic rehabilitation in outpatient and inpatients settings and general physiatric care.  This individual will be tasked with establishing an oncology-based rehabilitative program. The position will also educate and mentor students, residents, allied care professionals, as well as engage in cancer rehabilitation and wellness research. This position will be based at the Anschutz Medical Campus with clinical work at the University of Colorado Hospital, part of the UCHealth hospital system.  The faculty member may also perform clinical work at affiliate sites (Broomfield Hospital and Highlands Ranch Hospital). 

 Examples of work performed: Duties in this faculty position include clinical responsibilities such as assuming responsibility for patients’ quality, safety, outcomes, and satisfaction; maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements; and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. Clinical responsibilities could include outpatient clinics, hospital-based consultative services and general inpatient services (acute inpatient rehabilitation unit).  While not required, there is also an opportunity to provide electrodiagnostic services through Rehabilitation Medicine service at the University of Colorado Hospital. Applicants will also be expected to grow the relationship between Oncology/Cancer Center and PM&R. Clinical services could also expand into several satellite hospitals and clinics in the Denver metropolitan area. Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Physical medicine and Rehabilitation residents, medical students, and allied care professionals. Research responsibilities include actively pursuing participation in research activities such as mentoring residents and other faculty in research endeavors.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $185,000 - $250,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • MD or DO
  • Board certified/board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and possess or are eligible for a Colorado State Medical License 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing inpatient and outpatient care and consultation in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Experience in Cancer Rehabilitative Care or completion of a Cancer Rehabilitation Fellowship.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
