INTRODUCTION TO OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT (OOD):

In the process, development staff establish and nurture relationships with students, alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations and associations.
Stanford is committed to a donor-centric approach to development. Every member of the Office of Development staff plays a role in providing the university's donors with the service and attention that ensures an exceptionally positive and fulfilling philanthropic experience. Stanford also believes that diversity and excellence go hand-in-hand and so hires individuals with a commitment to working effectively with colleagues and donors from diverse backgrounds.
JOB PURPOSE & SUMMARY
Among several presidential initiatives at Stanford University is IDEAL - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access in a Learning Community. Through IDEAL, Stanford intends to achieve significant cultural and institutional change in recruitment, research, education, and engagement.
Aligned with IDEAL, OOD is committed to engaging historically underrepresented and emerging philanthropic communities. OOD's Diversity & Next Generation Giving (D&NG) program leads this effort, employing giving strategies and approaches that reflect the interests, values, and priorities of these philanthropic constituencies. Reporting to the D&NG Director, the Program Manager, Diversity & Next Generation Giving will help Stanford grow lifelong philanthropic relationships with these communities and cultivate a culture of inclusive philanthropy.
In July 2020 the university announced a new fundraising initiative to advance IDEAL priorities. As a member of the D&NG team, the Program Manager will play an important role in this effort.
