REPORTS TO:Director of Marketing and Creative Services
PLACEMENT: Support, grade 7
MINIMUM PAY RATE:$20.41 per hour

Position Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Assists the Marketing and Creative Services department in creating marketing content for digital, web and traditional advertising initiatives, and works with internal departments to elevate the JJC brand and increase enrollment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Create marketing content for digital, web and traditional mediums, including, but not limited to: web ads, web pages, blogs, TV commercials, newspaper ads, radio spots and direct mailers.
2.Develop copy for the College’s bi-annual magazine.
3.Work closely with the Marketing and design staff to support marketing initiatives.
4.Work with digital marketing specialist and the web design team to write and update web page content for JJC.edu and myjjc portal sites.
5.Copy edit materials and encourage the use of appropriate brand-specific language across marketing pieces, using AP style guidelines.
6.Work with various internal and external parties to create messages that align with the JJC brand and support the College’s vision, mission and strategic goals.
7.Research marketing and communications trends in higher education that will impact JJC’s brand position.
8.Serve on institutional committees.
9.Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
2.Two (2) years of marketing and communications experience.
3.Excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, organizational and writing skills. Demonstrated ability to write copy for multiple mediums.
4.Strong personal computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
5.Experience proofreading and editing.
6.Working knowledge of AP style.
7.Detail-orientated, creative, multi-tasking and flexible individual.
8.Familiarity with strategic use of social and other new media opportunities.
9.Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Experience working in a higher education or agency setting.
2.Experience creating and monitoring performance of desktop and mobile Google Ad campaigns.
3.Experience blogging for educational or corporate entities.
4.Experience writing web copy that enhances SEO performance.
5.Experience using a web content management system (CMS).
6.Working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite.

Physical Demands

1.Normal office physical demands.
2.Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

Working Conditions

1.Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.

The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.


This information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
