Job Description:

Anoka Technical College is seeking a part-time instructor to join our outstanding Construction Electrician program! Keep your full-time career on track while earning great extra income providing classroom and lab instruction to the next generation of construction electricians. You’ll join a dynamic team of instructors who support and mentor each other, so you’ll have everything you need to succeed. Great opportunity in a super high-growth field.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse, multi-cultural and racial community
•Delivering electrician instruction as assigned
•Developing and revising curriculum to maintain relevancy in field
•Participate in advisory committee meetings, department meetings and college-wide events
•Maintain current technical knowledge in the field through participation in professional development activities and professional organizations
•Assess student competencies as described in the curriculum supporting student success
•Engage in Inclusion, Diversity and Cultural Competency in the classroom
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean, Vice President or President

This job posting is open until filled, however, the first round of interviews will be conducted the week of December 1st. This position is temporary, part-time and is anticipated to teach subsequent semesters.

Required Qualifications:

Educational Requirement:
Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.

Occupational Experience Requirement:
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.

Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for this credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement:
State of Minnesota Master Electrician License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary teaching experience.

NOTICE: In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business, whether using a personal, rental, or state vehicle, shall be required to complete a Vehicle Use Agreement check annually.

Benefits Info:

Full-time instructor salaries currently range from $39,212 – $84,192 annually on the basis of education and experience. Salary schedule placement is determined in accordance with the 2019 – 2021 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty. Adjunct faculty members who teach fewer than five (5) credits per semester will be compensated at a per credit rate. The State of Minnesota offers qualified individuals an excellent benefits package including health insurance, optional dental, life insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, defined benefits and defined contribution (401 (a), retirement plans), optional 457 and 403 (b) retirement savings plans, and tuition waiver for employees and dependents.
