Position Summary:

This is a nine-month tenure track position. Projected begin work date is August 2021. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected for hire.

Duties include teaching undergraduate courses in communication and serving as the Program Director of the department’s liberal studies program that includes the Foundation of Communication course, freshman seminar courses in mass media and leadership, and additional liberal studies elective courses in intercultural communication. Additional duties include advising students, engaging in scholarship, and departmental, institutional, and regional service.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in communication with a focus in interpersonal and/or organizational communication.

ABDs in communication with significant professional experience will be considered. Degree must be confirmed on/before July 2022 if ABD.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with previous experience teaching a basic oral communication course, assessment, curriculum development, and expertise in quantitative research methods and intercultural communication are highly desirable. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge of teaching the oral communication course as a general education requirement.
