Work with coordinating faculty member in day-to-day operations of Interior Design Materials Library (MATLab) including evaluation of current materials and curation of new materials for that can be specified for the installation in new and renovated buildings/spaces. Tasks include:
Keep current with material innovations and keep the collection up to date with new and relevant materials on the market
Develop and maintain resources about researching new materials (database, materials research file, physical samples, etc.)
Serve a resource for students, faculty, and staff
Maintain and develop relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and material sample donors to obtain and display materials and facilitate contact/networking resources for students and faculty
Provide visually compelling, rotating displays of materials
Assist faculty with material loans for instructional purposes
Coordinate with Wertz Art & Architecture Library faculty and staff to code and track materials for loan
Work assignments are completed under close supervision.
Procedures are well established.
