Job Description:

The Department of Sociology, Egyptology and Anthropology (SEA) at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is seeking to recruit adjunct faculty members in the field of Anthropology to teach courses starting in the Spring semester of 2021. The Anthropology unit is seeking to recruit a versatile candidate with a demonstrable background in the field of cultural anthropology to broaden the scope of our course offerings. Candidates with the knowledge and ability to teach undergraduate courses in urban, political and psychological anthropology are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those able to teach the anthropology of film and courses like 'Arab Society'.


Requirements:

Commitment to teaching and engagement of students, as well as service to the Unit and the Department are necessary. An active research and practice agenda is recommended. Applicants holding an MA are also eligible to apply, however applicants currently enrolled in a PhD program or those who have completed a PhD will be prioritised.
