The Service Learning unit is comprised of two curricular initiatives, The Community Health Initiative – Phoenix (CHIP) which is a student-developed and directed community service program at UA College of Medicine – Phoenix, as well as the Certificate of Distinction – Service and Community Health which is a formalized curriculum across all four years which provides greater opportunities for reflection and development of leadership skills. These programs focus primarily on medically uninsured and underserved populations within the greater Phoenix area.

The campus also houses the UA Colleges of Public Health, Pharmacy, and Nursing, as well as Northern Arizona University's College of Health and Human Services, the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the International Genomics Consortium.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with development and oversight of service learning activities through CHI-P.
- Provide mentorship for scholarly work in areas of community health and health equity.
- Assist in recruitment of physician mentors for both service and scholarly activities.
- Serve as course director for the Medical Spanish independent elective and support expansion of Medical Spanish curriculum.
- MD or DO.
- Board Certified at the timeof appointment.
- Licensed to practice medicinein Arizona at the time of appointment.
- Teaching experience in anacademic environment at the undergraduate medical student level.
- Experience in medical school course administration.
- Experience with multiple teaching methods including lecture, case-based instruction, simulation, independent learning modules, and team- based learning in the medical school environment.
- Spanish fluency with experience using Spanish in clinical setting.Rank :
