The Department of Literatures and Cultural Studies at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) occasionally has the need to hire Part-Time Lecturers to teach in the University Core and in the English BA program. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction within the program. Candidates must be able to teach lower division writing (“Writing and Cultural Studies”) and/or sophomore literature courses. The area of specialization is open. ABD or MA is required by the start date. In-classroom assignment of teaching can be made to the Edinburg or Brownsville campus, partnering campus, or all three, depending on the needs of the Department. Ability to teach on-line courses is also required.

Minimum Qualifications

The qualifications to be considered as a part-time lecturer is an ABD or MA/MFA in English or related field of study from an accredited institution with at least 18 graduate hours in English.

Preferred Qualification

ABD in English or related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Teaching experience is desirable, as well as ability to use technology to support teaching and learning.
