Your opportunity:

Annual and Leadership Giving team provides strategy, direction and management to the growing of U of T’s annual giving programs. As a member of the annual and leadership giving team, the Administrative Assistant will support fundraising and stewardship efforts to grow mass philanthropic engagement and individual philanthropic engagement.

Working under direction from the Executive Director, Annual and Leadership Giving, the incumbent willadministrative support for the Annual and Leadership Giving Team contributing to the success of the ALG programs.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing detailed information for the development of donor relations and stewardship programs
  • Collecting basic development-related information
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/orhandbooks
  • Collating briefing package materials for meetings
  • Preparing draft correspondence using templates
  • Updating prospect databases and portfolios
  • Processing invoices

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years
  • Experience in philanthropy and in other fundraising environments
  • Experience with scheduling and maintaining calendars
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products - especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Experience with fundraising database ARBOR or related database
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, sensitivity and discretion in dealing with individuals of affluence and influence
  • Ability to maintain rapport with potential and current donors, instructors, students and University faculty and staff in business and social settings.
