Research/Innovation Support Services Specialist

DescriptionThis position supports the activities, staff, and leadership of the Office of Research, the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Integrity, the Bachelor of Innovation Program and the Center for Student Research. This position manages the Office of Research and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSPRI) events and trainings, supports the staff and affiliated committees, and manages websites and other marketing materials. This position provides human resource and financial administration to all four units, and other units as assigned. 

Currently, this position works remotely as directed by the AVCR and will therefore need remote access to the internet for telework.

Job Duties:

For all units:

Serves as unit Human Resources Liaison.Serves as primary financial and budget manager.Processes purchases, monitors budget, and provides accounting reports.Prepares/processes contracts and invoices for all departments and reconciles department accounts monthly to reflect accurate charges and resolves discrepancies on all accountsDesigns, proofreads, and routes documents.For the Office of Research, OSPRI, and the Center for Student Research this position:

Plans and organizes events, trainings, and committee meetings.Updates, organizes, and builds web pages.Provides support to AVCR for committees (schedule group meetings, take minutes, professional contact with faculty, staff and administrators).Provides support to Research Integrity Officer for investigations of misconduct. Maintains confidentiality; interacts professionally with persons associated with misconduct investigation.Coordinates activities, including meetings and workshops, to support various research and compliance areas and associated committees.Conducts special projects as assigned by the AVCR.For the Innovation Program this position:

Prepares lecturer contracts for fall, spring and summer classes, and sends and tracks contracts for signature, entering contracts into system once completed.This list is not all inclusive of the duties of this position.

Salary Range: Generally Starting at $39,789 - $49,737

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of 11/16 – 11/20.
  • The potential dates for second interviews are 12/3 -12/4.

    QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree PLUS two or more years progressively responsible, full-time work experience OR Associates degree PLUS four or more years progressively responsible, full-time work experience.Two or more years demonstrated experience and proficiency with multiple software systems (e.g., finance systems, HR systems, compliance or research systems; Microsoft Office Suite).Preferred Qualifications:

    Three or more years of experience in event planning.
  • Two or more years of experience working at an institution of higher education.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft, Concur, HCM, CU Marketplace, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing websites.
  • Experience managing large budgets and purchasing.
  • Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
