Position Summary:

The Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides services and support to over 50,000 students, faculty, and staff with the mission of advancing UCI's brilliant future and the vision of becoming world-class campus partners. DFA serves the university as planning partners, problem solvers, and solution providers—striving to make it as easy as possible for people to get the services they need, when they need them. Working closely with campus financial management, the UCI Controller's Office is a trusted strategic partner divided into three core teams: Accounting & Fiscal Services, Procurement Services, and Financial Services. The Accounting & Fiscal Services team ensures the integrity of UCI's financial reporting, enables effective and efficient campus financial processes and controls, manages contracts and grants funding at the post-award stage, and champions compliance with policies, laws, and regulations. The Procurement Services team leads through best practices in the acquisition of quality goods and services by implementing processes and procedures that deliver high quality expertise, significant value, and excellent customer service. Finally, the Financial Services team provides support and resources to campus in the areas of billing, collections, payments, disbursements, loan administration, and student tax information. In all these areas, the Controller's Office is always dedicated to providing effective and efficient customer service in support of UCI's mission and goals.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager for Accounting and Fiscal Services, this position will work to develop course material and training for UCI's Time Reporting System (TRS). The analyst will also provide help desk support services for TRS, via telephone, email, and in-person as arranged through scheduled meetings. Serve as a first-tier technical support provider, report, research, troubleshoot, and resolve problems for TRS.

Compensation Range:

$55,700.00 - $70,350.00

Required:

2 - 3 years' experience in technical training on a time reporting system.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Basic understanding of accounting principles.

Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.

Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

Leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.

Minimum 1 - 2 years' experience developing teaching materials and designing learning activities.

Solid understanding of instructional design theories, methodologies, and best practices, including interactive teaching methods.

Skill to assign priorities in order to complete work in a timely manner where there are: changes in workload, pressures of deadlines, heavy workload, changes in assignments. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Experience working learning management systems.

Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred:

Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.

Working knowledge of University payroll processing.

Special Conditions Required:

Must pass a background check.

Must be willing to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as needed.

Must have a valid CA Driver's License and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
