The Department of Film and Television at Boston University’s College of Communication is seeking an Assistant Professor in the area of production. An advanced degree and a background teaching at the university level is preferred. Experience should include narrative fiction film production, scripted television production, or documentary production, with a focus on directing and/or editing. Candidates whose body of work shows engagement with multicultural, minority, LGBTQ, or social justice subjects are encouraged to apply.

Academic duties require teaching three courses per semester at the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates should be qualified to teach a range of project oriented production courses, and are encouraged to propose and develop new courses in their field of expertise. Additional responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, as well as service on faculty committees and working groups.
