The Associate Director of Admissions provides leadership and oversight for the overall admissions process with primary responsibility for admissions related technological systems and process, management of communication programs for prospective students, and, operational management of the MD/PhD program. The Associate Director will also support recruitment efforts and special projects as needed. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Admissions Infrastructure and Administration
• Serve on admissions leadership team to support the overall vision and operations of the admissions process.
• Support quality improvement initiatives. Provide data analytic reports related to outcomes, strategic goals, process effectiveness, and strategies for engaging prospective students.
• Oversee admissions committee meetings. Interpret admissions policies and procedures to ensure compliance with University and LCME standards.
• Assist with the recruitment, training, and support of review panels for medical and MD/PhD applications.
• Assist with the development and implementation of showcases, second look and other events related to admissions and medical students.
• Primary lead for all technological systems utilized in processing medical school applications.
• Partner with IT regarding admissions technological needs to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Recruitment and Advising
• Serve as an advisor to prospective applicants, provide guidance regarding the application process and procedures.
• Oversee all inquiries concerning admissions.
• Support recruitment initiatives by developing and implementing health career fairs, pathway programs support, and workshops for potential applicants.

MD/PhD Program

• In collaboration with the faculty director, manage all aspects of the MD/PhD – Medicine Health Scholars program.

• Implement funding initiatives to support the MD/PhD – Medicine Health Scholars program.

Special Projects

• Collaborate with the Associate Dean or Director on special projects related to recruitment, admissions, and pathways programs.

Education Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Higher Education, or related field.

• Master’s degree

Experience Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years administrative and/or admissions experience.
• Familiarity with data metrics and reporting.

• Experience working within a clinical or medical school setting.
• Familiarity of Slate- software platform used to process medical school applications.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to effectively communicate admissions policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills that incorporate tact and diplomacy, with the ability to effectively cultivate relationships
• Demonstrated ability to identify, address and resolve conflict and complex issues in a multifaceted matrix
• Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills
