Staff Posting Details Appointment: Regular, (0.833 FTE) position. This is a 10 month position that works full time during the academic year, August 1 – June 1.

Position Summary: The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides direct service in primary medical care to students in an ambulatory care clinic. Diagnose, treat and prescribe medication according to scope of practice. Counsel and educate patients regarding health issues.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

    Within scope of practice, provide primary medical care to students, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of general medical problemsProvide patient education regarding physical and mental healthOversee and support the student medical assistant programCollaborate with other CHWS membersConsult with staff and parents about health and medical issues of students when appropriate and with written consent from the studentMonitor CHWS web page for updatesMaintain accurate and complete electronic medical recordsParticipate in Division and other University meetings, projects, and committeesMaintain continuing medical education units as required for licenseReview and write protocols and policy for CHWS medical treatmentAbility to work in respiratory care satellite clinic on campus which provides COVID-19 testing
Qualifications:

Required

    Baccalaureate degree National Board Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), family or adult practiceDEA license eligibleAbility to exercise a considerable degree of independent judgement and actionExperience developing and implementing a variety of programs and outreach servicesCommitment to equal opportunity/affirmative action Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community
Preferred

    Two or more years of experience in primary care, including patient education, and/or college setting experience Masters degreeLicensed to practice in the State of WashingtonUnderstanding of and appreciation for student affairs field Commitment to liberal arts education
Compensation and Benefits: Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.

The pay range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually depending on experience.
