Job Summary:

General maintenance technician is responsible for routine maintenance and repair of the campus and facilities. This entry-level position, reports to the General Maintenance Supervisor under the supervision of the Campus Facility Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of semi-skilled technical tasks for routine maintenance duties to facilities and outdoor structures
• Performs a variety of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
• Conducts routine walk-through inspections of the facilities and outdoor structures
• Assist in skilled trades repair and maintenance
• Escorts contractors when professional services are necessary
• Ability to follow/ reference standard operating procedures
• Ability to use hand/ power tools
• Ability to diagnose/ troubleshoot issues
• Completes work orders as assigned
• Performs all other related duties as assigned
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:

• Six (6) months General Maintenance experience
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures:

• Prior experience with the operation of fork-lifts, bobcats and backhoes
• Basic plumbing knowledge
• Basic electrical knowledge
