  • Position Description:

    Working as an Associate Technical Support Administrator, this position is responsible for maintaining and supporting computer systems across the University. The employee plays a pivotal role in supporting technology needs for faculty, staff, researchers, and students through oversight and support of specialized technology and the enhancement of hardware and software necessary to incorporate simulation into the curriculum of health professionals.

    Other job duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting computer related problems including hardware and software issues; provide technical support by fixing and imaging machines and installing software; and answering computer-related questions, which includes the support, planning and design of AV services in an advanced interdisciplinary immersive clinical simulation center.

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree or an Associate degree with 2 years of relevant experience
    • Have a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Office software suite
    • Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting
    • Appreciation of punctuality, regular attendance, and dependability
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    Preferred or Beneficial

    • Knowledge of Macintosh OS
    • Active Directory experience
    • Remote systems management tool experience
    • Desktop image deployment experience
    • Course content experience with operating systems, databases, and/or programming languages
    • Help Desk support experience
    • Experience with wired and wireless networks, including an understanding of subnets
    • Cisco hardware and Webex software conferencing
    • Classroom technology, including projectors and presentation equipment

    Working Conditions:Ability to lift heavy computer equipment ( up to 50 lbs)Ability to maneuver around and under office furniture to properly install network and computer equipment Indirect contact with human remains and cadaver specimens
