Library Technician, Latin American LibraryHoward-Tilton Memorial Library

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

Under the direction of the Director and Curator of the Latin American Library (LAL), this position will work primarily on the Chamorro Barrios Papers (an archival collection measuring approximately 175 linear feet) at the LAL.  They will arrange, rehouse, label, describe, and conserve these archival materials according to professional archival standards and develop a finding aid for the collection.  This position will also assist with future publicity and dissemination efforts.  As time allows, this position will assist with other archival holdings at the LAL. 

This is a full time, temporary position (28 weeks).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent (High School degree + 6 years of experience
• One year relevant work experience in a library, archive or museum
• Must have valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) US Drivers license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle policy criteria to be authorized as a driver.
