Assistant Director for Housing Facilities

Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the full-time position with benefits of Assistant Director for Housing Facilities (Student Services Manager I) in University Housing.

Duties include, but are not limited to managing the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of University Housing Custodial and University Place Custodial and Facilities Technicians (full-time, temporary, and student) staff; supervise landscaping, cleaning, and pest control contract work and ensuring contract terms are being met; managing and collaborating on projects of varying levels of complexity, confirming successful exchange of information, milestones, deliverables, operating procedures, follow-up, and completion; leading and serving on departmental, divisional, and university-wide work groups and committees; coordinating safety and security processes and initiatives; managing Housing access control operations and key administration; assisting in the development of emergency preparedness plans and processes; responding to emergencies in residential facilities; managing the planning and communication of cleaning for all residential facilities, including summer turnover and Camp and Conference Housing Operations; inspecting Housing facilities for needs; promoting and managing sustainability initiatives within University Housing; completing administrative paperwork and tasks; developing policies, protocols, quality control measures, and best practices to improve facility conditions, access control, and minimize risks; confirming compliance with inventory control, procurement, and safety expectations; managing Camp and Conference Housing Operations in collaboration with the Assistant Director for Housing Services (ADHS), including scheduling, room assignments, billing, quality control, and development; providing exceptional customer service to all constituents; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs. Master’s degree is preferred. Prior experience working in a college or university setting is preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable three (3) year driving record. Strong administrative skills. Ability to relate professionally to a diverse constituency including students, families, faculty, visitors, contract vendors and general public. Ability to demonstrate skills in written communication, fiscal management, occupancy management, and knowledge of access control protocols. Competence in primary computer applications, database management, and attention to detail in administrative responsibilities. Work in an office setting as well as various environments across campus. Able to work evenings and weekends during peak times of the year and able to respond to on-campus crisis and emergencies. Physically able to walk through communities, including up/down stairs in communities without elevators. Considered “essential personnel” and required to participate in campus-wide emergencies such as weather and structural emergencies.

Required Qualifications
