    Under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Coordinator of COVID-19 Response and Administrative Support is responsible for the oversight, implementation and evolution of all student-related COVID-19 response efforts. The coordinator will also be responsible for administrative tasks that are related to the pandemic as well as daily operations of the division of student affairs. This position is a full-time salaried appointment until June 30, 2021.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the daily monitoring of the student health survey, responding in a timely manner to all health survey submissions that receive a 'stop sign.'
    • Facilitate all appropriate steps and communication with students who have symptoms, have had close-contact with someone who is positive, are awaiting test-results or have tested positive for COVID-19.
    • Be a campus-wide expert on all university policies, protocols and procedures as they relate to COVID-19.
    • Collaborate with academic affairs who will inform faculty and other pertinent employees of students moving into and out of remote-learning.
    • Maintain confidential records for tracking purposes and complete daily reporting.
    • Facilitate contact tracing on campus for student cases.
    • Engage regularly with the Milwaukee County Health Department for contact tracing, documentation and guidance.
    • Serve on the Emergency Response Team, Student Affairs Direct Report Team and the Covid-Task Force.
    • Answer questions and share information about policies, procedures, protocols and reminders with all university constituents.
    • Monitor student travel request forms.
    • Work closely with residence life staff to coordinate contactless resident moves to quarantine/isolation rooms, assist with meal ordering, mail delivery and other resident needs as they arise.
    • Participate in ongoing COVID-19 professional development, especially earning a Johns Hopkins Contact Tracing Certification within two weeks of start date.
    • Perform administrative duties that support the Vice President for Student Affairs.


    • Bachelor's degree required. Health-related field preferred. A minimum of three years professional work post-bachelor's degree.
    • Ability to show empathy to distressed individuals, maintain professionalism in stressful and time-sensitive situations and work independently.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and written documentation skills.
    • Critical thinking and sound judgment.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Higher-education experience preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
    • Must reach, bend, stoop, lift
    • Must sit, walk or stand
    • Some repetitive motion may be required

    Working Conditions:

    • Varying workflow; sometimes stressful with high workload times of the year.
    • May need to complete work during evenings and weekends.
    • In-person work (not telecommuting or remote).
