Job Duties :The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a faculty position with strong expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating primarily face-to-face theory, lab and clinical courses. This faculty position will be accountable for teaching courses such as advanced medical-surgical nursing, pathophysiology and/or pharmacology for pre-licensure nursing students. The position may also involve the direct supervision of students in clinical and lab settings. Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing.
Minimum Education/Experience :Tenure track positions require a doctorate in nursing or related field, from an appropriately accredited institution. Non-tenure requires a Master’s degree in nursing from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment. Two years of medical-surgical nursing experience is required.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :• A PhD in Nursing is preferred or a closely related discipline with a graduate
degree in nursing.
• Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in
medical-surgical nursing.
• Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) is preferred.
