Job Description:*This position requires participation and successful progression in the Career Progression Program. *
Lead security/fire alarm systems technician. Perform advanced troubleshooting, installations, maintenance, and repairs on/of security/fire alarm systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans. Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors. Perform system testing and preventative maintenance on security/fire alarm systems, devices, and equipment. Oversee in-house projects; ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes. Mentor, train, and support Security/Fire Alarm Systems Journeymen. Maintain, repair, and program the Security Information Systems, Inc. (SIS) monitoring system and modems. Work with the University Police Department (UPD), Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), and other agencies or departments to resolve reporting problems. Support services for other trades; disable and enable security/fire alarm systems for contractors and other trades. Operate state/UF vehicles which requires to maintain a valid FL Class “E” Driver’s License Review inventory needs and initiate order request (as needed). Clean and maintain workshop and personal equipment. Enter data for work requests and time into the AiM work order system.NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.- Total 40 hours per week

$25.00 Hourly
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma and five years of appropriate experience; appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience - Completed requirements for National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems Levels One and Two - Completed the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) core - Completed Fire Alarm System Agent (FASA) training - Passed Fire Alarm Systems Technician Critical Task Assessment
Preferred Qualifications:EXPERIENCE: Four years of experience in the methods of installation, calibration, programing, maintaining, and repairing security/fire alarm systems and monitoring equipment
KNOWLEDGE: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
ABILITIES: Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures
