Position Summary:

The College of Engineering wishes to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work a grant-funded project focusing on Cyberthreat Detection and Diagnosis in Multistage Manufacturing Systems through Cyber and Physical Data Analytics. This project is funded by the National Science Foundation’s Division of Computer and Network Systems.

This project will be under the direct supervision of Dr. WenZhan Song, a Georgia Power Mickey A. Brown Professor of Engineering and Founding Director of the Center for Cyber-Physical Systems at the College of Engineering’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists at the University of Georgia who are engaged in studying manufacturing systems, computer security, and electrical drives to develop and demonstrate a new methodology and tool for cyber-threat detection and diagnosis in multistage manufacturing systems.

The goals of this project are to develop a fully integrated ferrofluidic microchip to magnetically manipulate and enrich cells inside bio-compatible ferrofluids in a label-free manner.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent, as well as a Doctoral degree in Computer, Statistics or any data analytics-focused Engineering fields (or equivalent) by the date of appointment.

Hands-on experience with signal processing, machine learning, deep learning, and computer networking.

Strong python programming and embedded system development skills.

International students may be asked to submit a TOEFL score – Internet based test minimum 80; Speaking>20, Writing>20.

Candidates with awards in computer science and engineering related competitions are strongly encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Strong data analytics experience with signal processing, machine learning and deep learning of time-series data; experience with Python, InfluxDB, Grafana, Linux and IoT platforms such as Raspberry PI is a plus.
