Purpose of Job:

Provide day-to-day office support in the Department of Agriculture to the assigned supervisor.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Aiding the staff in filing, coping, answering phone and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Job Functions :

Open office and manage the day-to-day operations of the office and classroom.
File travel requests, reimbursements, and leave requests
Schedule facilities and keep a record of building schedule book
Handle incoming and outgoing mail
Establish and maintain the filing system and keep a copy of travel, leave, etc. for personnel within the school
Become knowledgeable of the office’s function and have an understanding of office goals
Be punctual in adhering to scheduled work hours
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must be available to work and meet class schedule with academic success in the course during the academic school year.
Must dress appropriately for work environment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Must be dependable and able to work without supervisor’s constant oversight;
Must have excellent interpersonal, customer relations, communication, and organizational skills;
Effective time management skills;
Computer skills
Ability to complete projects by deadline;
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, e-mail and internet;
Highly organized, detail oriented;
Successful experience working in a team environment; and
Ability to manage multiple priorities, objectives, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
