Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Academic Program Coordinator assists the director in the administration of a specific function(s) within a specific College.

Additional Department Summary: The Assistant Registrar will be responsible for counseling students regarding their degree audits, interpreting policies and procedures for students in regard to degree audit and commencement questions, and verify transferability and applicability of pending transfer credits for degree candidates. The Assistant Registrar will work with the Office of the Registrar and Strategic Communications on issues related to graduation. Work with the Associate Dean for Student Services and Registrar to keep the staff current with graduation policies, C&BA Upper/Lower Division entrance requirements, and curriculum course sequencing. This position will provide walk-in advising to undergraduate business students and manage, maintain, and secure active and inactive undergraduate students' records.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience; OR Master's degree. Student or Graduate Assistant, Intern, or student oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to interact well with students, faculty, staff and the university community. Be able to convey information promptly and accurately. Ability to tactfully and effectively communicate unpleasant information to students in regard to the completion of their degree, work effectively with the Culverhouse Registrar, academic advisors, and other campus partners to resolve issues related to advising and graduation.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in a higher education setting. Proficiency with MS Excel and Word. Either knowledge of BANNER, OnBase and Degree Works or the willingness to learn other computer-based tasks. Experience working on a college campus, processing confidential information and customer service.
