Office of Research Services - Research Compliance OfficeJob Description This position provides coordination of compliance activities for the Research Compliance Office; providing assistance with research applications, research regulations, applicable research topics, ethics, and responsible conduct training.Characteristic Duties Include:
- Coordinate protocol processingRecording, tracking, reviewing protocols using database, and filing systemCoordinate compliance training for principal investigators, review board members, and other necessary personnelProvide advice, assist, and disseminate information to researchers and review board members regarding research compliance and research ethicsServes as primary contact for research subject questions and concerns. Assist in coordinating complaint investigations and reportsStay abreast of federal and state laws pertaining to research compliance by attending conferences in relation to researchInterpret regulations and ensure department complies with regulations related to research complianceNotify appropriate personnel regarding regulation changesAssist in developing policy and procedure manuals and materials for departmentRegularly review office procedures and recommend changes as necessary to ensure complianceResolve problem applications with reviewer and investigator (this requires in-depth knowledge of the federal regulations and university policy); refer unresolved problems to the directorAttend and assist at meetings, including recording substantive changes to consent or applicationMonitor continuing (semi-annual or annual) review process; support reviewer for completion of the reviewProvide computer skills and support for the development and implementation of an electronic submission processMaintain database and create reports for the data baseRespond to Director’s requests as needed
A Bachelor's degree in a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and at least one year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired - is necessary.Full Time/Part Time
