Job Summary/Basic Function:

Teach courses for each semester as assigned and based on the needs of the program

Minimum Qualifications:

The Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies at Liberty University is seeking qualified candidates to teach counseling and school counseling courses in the online environment.

This is a remote position; thus, candidates are not expected to be in residence to teach these online courses, although voluntary opportunities to teach on campus may be available.

Candidates are required to possess a doctoral degree in counseling, preferably Counselor Education and Supervision. Preference given to those from a CACREP accredited program.

Licensure and experience as a school counselor and/or LPC/LMFT is required.

Candidates will demonstrate a knowledge and application of contemporary language and practices in counseling.

Candidates should have some experience teaching in higher education with preference given to those who have taught in the online environment.

Preference will be given to those experienced in the use of the Blackboard learning environment.

Experience in supervising practicum and internship counselor education students at the graduate level is preferred.

A strong professional identity as a counselor will be demonstrated through advanced credentialing, presentations, publications, and service to the profession.
