Position Summary:

William & Mary invites qualified applicants for the position of Trades/Utilities Senior Worker (Electrical) to join Facilities Management’s team of over 300 professionals committed to providing a broad set of services in support of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests of the university. This position is a part of the electrical shop, responsible for providing all repair and maintenance service across the university campus. The incumbent performs under general supervision and requires the application of standard trade practices in providing electrical maintenance and repair as well as incidental support for carpentry and plumbing repairs.

Required Qualifications:

•High School Graduate or equivalent
•Valid Driver’s License
•Electrical experience
•Must have experience in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
•Proven ability to perform general electrical work in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings and their electrical system and campus utility systems.
•Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
•Ability or experience to decide on means and methods of task accomplishment on work orders
•Ability or experience to determines materials and parts required to complete tasks and orders parts from storeroom and coordinate schedules and appointments with customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Journeyman’s License in electrical.
•Working knowledge in the practices, methods, materials, and tools of the plumbing and carpentry trades.
•Basic computer skills.
