The person in this position would teach:

MGMT 232 Operations Management. This 3-credit course is required for MBA students and students in our joint MPP/MBA and MBA/MA in Educational Leadership programs. This course is scheduled for Tuesday evenings from 7-9:30pm. The spring 2021 semester begins on January 20 and final exams end on May 14. Spring courses will be delivered online and it is expected that course delivery will be primarily synchronous at the time slot scheduled for the course.

Course Description:
MGMT 232 Operations Management introduces operations as a functional area of management and focuses on various strategies to add value in an organization. The course is built around managing processes to achieve efficient use of resources and effective performance outcomes in the production and delivery of goods and services. Main topics include process analysis, resource allocation, quality management, just-in-time and six-sigma approaches, and supply chain management. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the complex nature of improvement processes and develop system-wide solutions supported through quantitative analysis. The case method is emphasized to allow students to make decisions that link operational choices of the organization to its overall strategy in order to achieve its goals. Students also gain a deeper understanding of ethical issues faced by operations managers when managing supply chains in a global economy.
