Summary: Manages and facilitates project teams, which consist of students, staff and faculty, responsible for the development of new products for RHV clients.

Responsibilities:  Serves as lead developer on projects and manages a team of a least ten student interns; mentors the students through the work on the projects and taking on a significant design and implementation roles when necessary; Provides RHV point of contact for clients and acts as on-going liaison among project sponsors and key stakeholders during critical stages of product development; Assists with technical and business evaluations of proposed client projects; Provides expertise for industry-related product development projects which includes developing design requirement documents, project plans, prototyping, and testing/quality assurance tasks; Serves as a mentor and role-model for student members of project teams which includes promulgation of desirable traits such as a strong work ethic, individual responsibility, and tenacity; Procures and coordinates resources as necessary for project success. Resources may include faculty, industry experts, equipment/software, contractors, vendors, and capital; Maintains accountability for all project success factors that are within a reasonable degree of control which includes taking ownership of aspects such as budget, progress, schedule, and scope; Remains current with technical areas of expertise; Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise interns that are added/involved with the project.

Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science with 2 – 4 years of relevant experience required. Individual must have a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals in their area of study and should be knowledgeable and experienced in as many as possible, but not necessarily all, of the following areas: Web application development, Mobile application development, Software testing and quality assurance, Cloud hosting: Amazon Web Services and/or Azure, Technical Project Management, Leading Technical Project Teams, Requirements & Scope Definition, Planning and Scheduling Projects, Monitoring & Tracking Projects, New Product Development, Managing Budgets.
