1. The SPM will serve as a special assistant to the WSII Vice Dean and Managing Director and will be responsible for proposing, researching, designing, planning, and executing new donor-funded projects, Penn-wide collaborations, and multi-organization partnerships. In this role, the SPM will provide strategic and tactical support to optimize leadership effectiveness; serve as a representative of WSII in critical meetings and communications with important stakeholders (such as peer Penn organizations like Penn Medicine and McNulty Wharton Leadership, foundations; companies, and current and prospective donors); propose new activities and opportunities consistent with WSII’s strategic priorities; assure critical evaluation of opportunities; guide follow-up; and monitor progress.
2. The SPM will also lead the execution of all virtual events for WSII in FY21, including WSII’s monthly Dollars and Change podcast and number of other funded activities including Turner Speaker Series, Nazarian Innovator in Residence, etc. The SPM will be responsible for representing WSII to external groups and individuals; identifying, conducting outreach to, booking, and prepping key stakeholders and industry VIPs as our guest speakers; prepping WSII’s Vice Dean and MD; and managing all event details including communications; technical operations; event execution; and follow-up.
3. The SPM will also manage and execute special projects and urgent tasks associated with WSII’s ongoing programs of research and student programs on impact investing. Key tasks may include interviewing, screening, and selecting students for participating in WSII’s highly coveted programs for which we typically have 5-10 student applicants for every fellowship opportunity; designing and administering surveys for investment fund managers; conducting statistical analyses; and reporting findings.Job Description

Prior work experience as a special assistant to executive leaders
A deep understanding of WSII’s priorities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Superb attention to detail
Skill in locating, mastering, and synthesizing diverse information and research
The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information and relationships
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
