Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30. A flexible schedule may be required on occasion to meet the administrative needs of the Faculty Senate.

The Administrative Coordinator plans, coordinates, and/or performs complex administrative duties for the Office of the Faculty Senate, including the Chair of the Faculty Senate, Secretary of the Faculty Senate and Faculty Senate Committees with correspondence, reports, calendars and meetings. Plans, implements and coordinates special projects or programs; prepares detailed program reports. Formulates and administers administrative policies and procedures. Assists with the organization and management of the Chair and Secretary of the Faculty Senate, Faculty Senators and Faculty Senate Committees by advising them of matters requiring action and informing them of relevant procedures and precedents. Upon rotation of elections, coordinates smooth transitions of responsibilities of the Faculty Senate Chair, Secretary and chairs of Faculty Committees. Maintain communications with the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, Office of the Board of Trustees, Chair of Faculty Senate, Secretary of the Faculty Senate, Office of the University Registrar, deans of all colleges, Faculty Senate Committees, Faculty Senate Senators, University Libraries, and regional campuses.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

BA and three (3) years related office management experience; or high school diploma and seven (7) years secretarial and office management experience or equivalency.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Thorough knowledge of faculty governance policies and procedures. Excellent management and administrative skills. Experience working with a legislative body. Must have effective communication skills. Requires an intense level of the following skills: organizational, analytical, problem-solving and decision/judgment making. Ability to work independently. Conscientious, tactful, and ability to work well with people.
