Position Summary::

The College of Engineering is searching for an Assistant Professor faculty position. Expectations are that the individual will engage in research activities including publications, mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, securing external funds for his/her research program as well as contribute to the University’s teaching and service missions.

The College of Engineering at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in an engineering field and show the ability to establish a quality research program, collaborate effectively with other faculty, and excel in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Established in 1831, The University of Alabama currently enrolls over 37,000 students and employs over 1,700 full and part-time faculty members in 13 colleges and schools. In 1837, UA became one of the first five universities in the nation to offer engineering classes. Today, the College of Engineering is comprised of seven academic departments with over 6,000 students and will be home to more than 150 tenure/tenure-track faculty following the current search. The College occupies well over 500,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities with research and instructional space, including the $300 million Shelby Engineering and Science Quadrangle completed in 2014 and the newly reopened $22 million renovated H.M. Comer in 2018.
